HIV/AIDS and Asian Americans

Non-Hispanic Asian Americans have the lowest rates of HIV infection diagnoses and AIDS prevalence among all racial and ethnic groups.

• Non-Hispanic Asian Americans were diagnosed with HIV infection at an overall lower rate than non-Hispanic whites in 2022.¹
• From the beginning of the epidemic through 2022, Non-Hispanic Asian Americans account for less than 1% of classifications of persons with Stage 3 (AIDS).²
