Diabetes and Asian Americans

  • Asian Americans are 40 percent more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes than non-Hispanic whites.
  • Asians are 80 percent more likely to be diagnosed with end stage renal disease than non-Hispanic whites.
  • From 2013-2015, Asian American women were almost 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes, as compared to non-Hispanic white women.
