Within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), there are an institute and seven offices of minority health/health equity under the authority of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. The institute and offices work within their agencies and across agencies to lead and coordinate activities that improve the health of racial and ethnic minority populations, reduce health disparities, and advance health equity.
