Knowledge Center: Catalog Search Help

The Knowledge Center Library Catalog allows you to search with simple or complex terms. It is not like a general Internet search, which edits spelling mistakes and automatically searches word variations. When entering a search term, you need to tell the database exactly what words to search.

Characters for Boolean searching of multiple terms, use:

& for AND

/ for OR

! for NOT

* wildcard for truncation of terms

Note that search results are limited to a maximum of 1,000 records per query. If you reach that limit, you should search again to further limit your search terms.

“ANY WORD” - Note that when using the simple search box, you automatically search across the entire document record. This selection includes the abstract field, which may not be visible on to the general public. To narrow your search, go to the Advanced Search option.

  • Sort report by date, to put the most recent publications at the top of the list.
  • Display full catalog record. Click below each record to display more detail.
  • Display additional pages. If available, click the Next and Previous navigation links on the report page.
  • Add item to the InfoCart. Once you have selected a list of documents, go to your InfoCart to print or email your list.
  • Organization reports – To view and print the organization’s contact information, select “Print Organization Report” in the InfoCart. The list will display, and you can either print page, or copy & paste the information into your own document. Another choice is to select “E-mail (Link)” which will email the bundled links; when you click on this emailed link, it will retrieve complete organizational records in a text format.
