Paul Juarez, PhD is the Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.

In addition to this position, Dr. Juarez also serves as the Director of Health Disparities Research Center of Excellence, which is also located at Meharry Medical College. He is nationally recognized for his research in health disparities, particularly in the area of youth violence prevention. His research on the influence of the environmental exposure on health disparities has led to the development and establishment of a new paradigm: the public health exposome. Dr. Juarez has published widely on topics of health equity, cultural competency, AIDS prevention and education. He has served as a consultant for the State of Tennessee and the City of Nashville in developing a Violence Prevention Plan for Nashville Urban Partnership Academic Center of Excellence grant, and established a city-wide coalition to prevent youth violence.

Dr. Juarez is appointed to serve as the Committee Chair from July 9, 2016, to July 8, 2018.
