Hepatitis and Hispanic Americans

  • Among all ethnic groups in 2011, Hispanics had the second highest rate of Hepatitis A.
  • Hispanics are almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with Hepatitis A than non-Hispanic Whites.
  • Hispanics are almost twice as likely to die from viral hepatitis, as compared to Whites.
  • Hispanic adults 40 years and over are 30% more likely to develop Hepatitis B.
