New Project Aims to Improve Health Data Collection for Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders

Last week, HHS and the CDC launched a new project aimed at improving health data collection for Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. The information will be collected through the National Health Interview Survey, which is conducted by CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics. Read the press release and blog post.

The American Heart Association recently announced the launch of their CPR and first aid website for Spanish-speaking audiences Exit Disclaimer. Spanish-language resources include the Hands-Only™ CPR video and print materials, CPR and first aid course descriptions and free resources that can be printed or downloaded to promote the Hands-Only CPR initiative.

AHA Lanza Portal en Internet en Español sobre la Reanimación Cardiopulmonar

La Asociación Cardiaca Estadounidense anunció recientemente el lanzamiento de su portal en internet para los hispanohablantes Exit Disclaimer sobre la reanimación cardiopulmonar (CPR por su sigla en inglés) y los primeros auxilios. Los recursos en español incluyen el video sobre CPR utilizando sólo las manos, llamado Hands-Only™ en inglés, y los materiales impresos, descripciones de cursos de CPR y de primeros auxilios, y recursos gratis que pueden imprimirse o bajarse de intenet para promover la iniciativa Hands-Only™.

What's New in the Knowledge Center

The Knowledge Center at the Office of Minority Health Resource Center is the largest dedicated repository of health disparities information in the nation, with a collection of 50,000 documents, articles, reports, books, journals and media related to the health status of racial and ethnic minority populations. The library collection also includes sources of consumer health material in more than 35 languages.
