World Breastfeeding Week

20th world breastfeeding week
World Breastfeeding Week Exit Disclaimer is celebrated August 1 to 7, as a time to raise awareness of the benefits of nursing for the health and wellbeing of mother, child and family. This annual event, led by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action, focuses on spreading the word about the impact breastfeeding has on securing a baby's immune system, preventing ear aches, sudden infant death syndrome and malnutrition and curbing the likelihood of many chronic diseases later in life and promoting lifelong health. Breastfeeding also helps parents save money in formula costs and doctor visits. Although it may take time to adjust to breastfeeding and a new schedule, there are consultants, resources and research that promote a natural and healthy way of feeding for able families.
