Health Equity Can’t Wait. Act Now in Your Community!

For Preconception Peer Educators

We're in!

We support a nation free of disparities in health and healthcare.

National Partnership for Action logo

Grab your friends, colleagues, coworkers, classmates, neighbors and maybe a professor or two and get involved in the whirlwind of Minority Health Month 2012. You work hard all year long, raising awareness about preconception health and spreading the word. Even if April brings about more media attention and opportunities, we’re not asking you to do anything different than what you’ve been doing. Bring your knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to help those in your commUNITY to join you and Act Now.

Health Equity Day of Action

You always have great ideas that drum up interest throughout the year around the PPE program. Now here’s an opportunity for one more of those record-setting events around the themes for Minority Health Month’s ‘Act Now.’ Organize a Health Equity Day of Action Youth Festival on your campus to promote health equity. Other Suggested Activities

Do you need another event to add to the list? How about some extra ideas? Check out our Other Suggested Activities page. Pick an idea and run with it. Make it your own and let your commUNITY know about the importance of decreasing racial and ethnic health disparities and promoting health equity. Let them know how important it is to Act Now. Just don't forget to tell us about all the great things you decide to do, so we can support and promote your work.

Organize a College to Community Health Outreach Week

You’re there. They’re there. So hey, why not Organize a College to Community Health Outreach Week and promote health equity in your commUNITY? You’ve got the knowledge and skills. Take it beyond your school’s boundaries and raise awareness.

Social Media Networking

As the czars of Social Media Networking, we know with just a couple taps on a few keys, messages are sent at the speed of wi-fi. Utilize those skills to let your friends like your events, retweet your Day of Action updates and pin photos from the event. Spread the word on the ground, of course, just remember not to forget those friends who are two states - and maybe even two time zones-away.

Health Equity Day of UNITY

A person’s health is based on more than just the ability to go to the doctor, what they eat or where they live. When it comes to health, multiple factors play a role. Everyone plays a part in the health of Americans. Grab a friend and attend the Health Equity Day of UNITY Town Hall in your community, where speakers will showcase this fact. Join health professionals, community organizers, government representatives and your neighbors to promote health equity and receive this call to action. Get your poster here [PDF | 16.2MB]

Volunteer at local events

There’s a ton to do this year and lots of events to attend. Instead of just going to an event, consider lending your expertise, time or some muscle to an event in your area. Volunteer at local events!

Become an NPA Partner. Take the Individual Pledge

The National Partnership for Action is looking for individuals and organizations from all sectors to join the partnership by taking the online partner pledge!
